Shiretoko National Park , located on the Shiretoko Peninsula in eastern Hokkaido, is one of Japan's most beautiful and unspoiled national parks.
Shiretoko is located at a 44 degrees latitude, at the same level of Milan or Marseille, but the climate is extremely different. The temperatures of February are comprised between -11°C (12,2°F) and -3°C (26,6°F).
This is hence extremely rare to be able to see drift ice as such a southern latitude.
No worry for the beginners. The experienced guide gives you instructions.
The tour features easy snowshoeing hike in Furepe waterfall path and Drift Ice sightseeing.
